Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jerry attended the University of Kentucky on a football scholarship from 1970 thru 1974. Upon completing his football and college commitments, he became employed at Fasig Tipton Livestock Underwriters, at that time the largest equine mortality agency in the world. In 1984 Jerry left Fasig Tipton Livestock Underwriters and started the Kiger-Parks Insurance Group with his partner Syl Kiger. In October 1986 Jerry Parks Equine Insurance was formed and now exists as Jerry Parks Insurance Group.

"I am an avid racing and breeding fan and have always found the thoroughbred industry to be most intriguing and interesting. I can't imagine a better profession than insuring thoroughbred horses and following their careers.
